Restoration

Our workshop provides complete restoration services. This often includes refinishing the frame in order to remove rust, an enamel coat is then applied with a heat baked finish. Then the newly refinished frame is ready for new fabrics. We use appropriate fabrics that consist of vintage as well as current silks, linens and brocades. We have in stock trims as well as our custom created trims and embellishments. Our fringes and trims are available in a wide range of colors. Should there be a specific color that you need that is not in our collection there is always the option of dying the fabric as well as the trims to match a color sample of your choice.

One of our unique services is that of a welder that does custom frames as well as frame repair. If there is a need for a unique size, shape or fitting, our welder can create it with expert precision. Often there will be the case where there is a pair of lamps and there is only one shade, that is not a problem for us. We will have our welder create another frame to exactly match the original one. Then we will cover them both to match with your choice of fabric. Take a look at our pictures on the galleries under the heading, Restoration.

We have the knowledge, patience, and respect for your prized antiques and heirlooms. We use only first quality restoration products, and can restore shades that are rusted and worn. We use fabrics that are vintage in appearance but flame retardant treated, so that the next generation will be able to enjoy your heirlooms for many years to come.

We specialize in creating beautiful lampshades and producing custom restorations that are virtually impossible to find anywhere else.

This particular shade was an original light fixture from Taylor, TX. The request was to restore it to the original color and design. The small part of fabric attached to the steel frame was the original color which was a coral pink. As you can see the restored shade is made from silk fringe and chiffon that was custom dyed to match the original color. We often take what looks to be an impossible task and are able to recreate the beauty of days gone by.
